Redhead Reviews: The Ultimate Cottagecore Playlist

Hi world! Chris here. Growing up in the country, I’ve kind of always been a part of the trend that is called cottagecore. Defined as a lifestyle that involves creativity and simplicity, it focuses around pastoral aesthetics with lots of florals, foods, and homemade objects.

Now that I’m out of college and living back home, I’ve had a bit more time on my hands due to not having homework and studying anymore. Because of that, I’ve been trying to get into a lot more creative outlets. I think they’re a great stress reliever when I’ve been writing all day and feel like my head is going to explode. Making something allows me to use my hands for a change and it’s really fun.

Right now, I’m in the middle of a project that involves modpodge and pretty pictures. Hopefully I’ll have it done by next week and share it in a post. I was hoping it would be done today, but that didn’t happen, so i decided to share the playlist I’m listening to as I work.

Music that fits into the cottagecore trend tends to be on the slower side with a focus on acoustic instruments and folksy vocals. I personally really like it. It’s fun, easy listening to help calm you down and focus on whatever your doing.

If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, then please check out the following songs!

Lemon Boy by Cavetown

Like Real People Do by Hozier

Flowers in Your Hair by The Lumineers

How Do You Feel Today? By Gabrielle Aplin

I Wish I Was by The Avett Brothers

Strawberry Blond by Mitski

Who Hung the Moon by Jamestown Revival

My Lover by Birdtalker

Snaggletooth by Vance Joy

Big Black Car by Gregory Alan Isakov

If any of these songs interest you, go ahead and click on the picture to find them on YouTube and give them a listen. I highly recommend it.

I’ll see you next week. Until then, stay safe out there!
