Hi world! Chris here. It’s been awhile. I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe amidst . . . everything. I’ve missed y’all. Thanks for staying loyal even when I wasn’t uploading. It always made me smile when I got updates about new likes on my old posts, and new followers. Glad to meet you all!
I’m not going to dive into too much of an explanation about why I was absent for so long, so I’ll just keep it brief in saying that I had a lot going on. Graduation, moving back home, starting a new job, gaining a family member, losing a pet, etc. Lot’s of life just started happening all at once and blogging wasn’t really front and foremost for a bit. However, recently I’ve been very inspired and really want to get back into it.
I’ve mentioned before that I’m a bit of a tree hugger that really loves the outdoors and hiking and all that stuff, but recently I’ve been taking that to a whole new level and have really been trying to lean into the new sustainability trend.
Now, thinking about climate change really stresses me out, so I’m not going to go over that here (But if that’s something y’all have an interest in learning about, let me know and I can provide some resources). Instead, what I want to cover are sustainable brands, cheap green hacks, and just limiting my impact on the earth as much as I can.
I know there are some debates over sustainability right now because it’s often viewed as a thing of privilege (due to the higher price of sustainable products and time consumption of living green), but that’s not really the aspect that I want to get into either. I personally am not overflowing with money, so I can’t really delve into the super privileged side of sustainability anyway. Plus, I think living green is really a personal choice. It’s something I personally enjoy, and so I’ve decided to get really into it. However, that doesn’t mean I’m gonna bash anyone else that doesn’t do what I do. It’s up to them, not me.
That’s just something I wanted to address and get out of the way before I really get into making new posts. And don’t worry, I won’t completely disregard the original content of this blog. Just take it in some new directions for a bit. For example, I’d really love to review products from the following companies:
- Plaine Products (they have more than just shampoo and conditioner)
- LastObject
- Pact
- Pass it On
- Misfits Market
- Who Gives a Crap
- Humankind
That’s just to name a few of the more well known ones. That’s also not the only thing I want to get into. But am I going to tell you the rest? No. You’ll just have to read and find out!
I’ll see you guys next week. Until then, stay safe out there!
