Hi world! Chris here. So, I have a list of excuses about a foot long for why I didn’t upload last week, but it can all be summarized by saying that it’s almost the end of the semester and I’m stressed, my professors are stressed, my computer is stressed, honestly, I’m pretty sure my house is stressed at this point. Due to the excess of assignments, finals, and above mentioned stress, updates are probably going to pretty spotty until the end of May. Given that there’s not much to write about in quarantine, the only real disappointment in that is the conclusion of my New York trip probably won’t be up until then. Sorry.
As someone that’s almost always dealing with anxiety, I have multiple ways to combat it and they’ve all come into play through this quarantine. One of the easiest and most entertaining ways to do this is watching YouTube videos just to distract my mind. I’m absolutely addicted to multiple channels and watching them has become one of the only ways to unwind after doing homework all day.
Because I’m too distracted to write a real post today, but I still wanted to upload, I decided to share some of my favorite YouTubers. I highly recommend you check out the ones I have listed below because being bored in quarantine is the best time to do it. It took me months to get my parents to watch them, but now they’re just as addicted to some of these channels as I am. This is a big deal to anyone who knows my parents because they are not internet people. The fact that they learned how to use YouTube just to watch my favorites is the best selling point I know of.
If you want to make it through another month of quarantine, I highly suggest you enjoy this list.
LaurenZside
Lauren is one of those YouTubers that can make you laugh by doing just about anything. She’s got a bright personality and a great relationship with her husband who often comes into her videos and makes them even better. Sometimes she uploads gaming content which is still funny to watch even though I don’t play video games. My favorite series is her TikTok series because she puts in so much effort sometimes it’s ridiculous. Her channel is also clean for kids to watch, so don’t worry about hearing any strong language. Click the image to check out some of her content!
Dylan is in Trouble
If you like movies, you will love Dylan’s channel. His videos are incredibly hilarious movie commentaries where he either roasts everything on the screen or he falls in love with it instead. He seems to know what he’s talking about film wise, so it’s fun to learn a bit about camera angles and scene transitions while also being amused into tears. Dylan is also pretty easy on the eyes, so that helps too. His Disney commentaries are my favorites, but he can get a little strong with his language sometimes. Once again, the link to his content is in the picture.
The Try Guys

This group is an important part of my YouTube experience because they’re the reason I started getting on. Sophomore year of college one of my roommates was watching them on our TV and introduced me to their videos. Thus, my addiction was born. Ned, Zach, Keith, and Eugene are four best friends that do exactly what the name suggest. They’re all super funny, but they’re also good role models for non-toxic masculinity and healthy romantic relationships because half of them are married. Keith is probably the funniest and he’s my mom’s favorite, but I like Ned the best because he has the cutest son and he loves his wife so much it’s adorable. They have several different series to check out, so click on the image to visit their channel.
The Film Theorists

I think my love for this channel comes from being an English major. Every episode is basically just an audio version of an essay I would write, but it’s about different movies or TV shows instead of books. Usually they also chose really interesting topics that probably wouldn’t be okay to write about in a classroom. If you’re someone that’s into entertainment and conspiracy theories, this is the channel for you. It’s definitely one of the more in depth and intelligent channels I follow, but it’s still funny too. My favorite episodes discuss how to survive different horror movie villains. Click the image to check them out!
The Hillywood Show
This channel is a dedicated masterpiece. It’s a company run by two sisters that act as director and star actress to every video. They’re known for making movie and TV show parodies, but they do some other challenges too. The most impressive episode I’ve seen is the second Supernatural parody where almost every cast member made an appearance. Their videos are extremely well made and deserve all the attention they can get. The two sisters are also openly Christian, so that’s just a plus for enjoying their work. You should definitely use the image to check out their channel!
This next channel was purposefully saved for last because it is my absolute favorite. I can’t even watch the videos on my own anymore because my parents are also obsessed with it and have to watch them with me. Both funny and informative, I give you the best content on YouTube.
BuzzFeed Unsolved Network

Ryan and Shane go back and forth between hunting for ghosts in haunted buildings and discussing murder mysteries with no ending. Always full of fear and lots of concentrated chaotic energy, Ryan Bergara is the die-hard believer in the supernatural and has lovingly dubbed his fans the Boogaras. Shane is a 6’4” giant that believes in wind instead of ghosts and calls his fans the Shaniacs to give the illusion of brainiac intelligence. Without their back and forth banter, the show wouldn’t be half as good as it is. However, with their on-screen relationship, these two make every episode awesome. While the Supernatural series is my favorite, their True Crime show is still worth the watch. Go ahead and click on that image to see for yourself. You will not regret it.
Hopefully this can help make your quarantine a little better than it is. If you fall in love with any of these channels like I did, let me know and we can bond over how great they are. If you don’t love them then that’s up to you. Hope you’re still staying safe and inside. Prayers that this thing ends sometime soon.
Until then, stay safe out there!
